Our Story

  Immotep was born from a legacy that began in 1982, when Bassam G. Matar founded BG Matar Contracting & Co. with a belief that buildings should reflect the stories of people and communities. 

The company became known for delivering quality, trustworthy construction projects across Lebanon. 

His son, Georges Matar, grew up on construction sites, later shaping his own vision through architecture and real estate. Seeing a growing demand for integrated design-led execution, Georges led the transformation from a traditional contractor into a design + build studio. This evolution gave rise to Immotep — a boutique firm that combines the architectural insight of MAA Matar Architects & Associates with the technical strength of the BG Matar execution team. 

Named after Imhotep, the world’s first architect-engineer, Immotep represents the fusion of design and delivery. As the design & build arm of Immobilo Investments, it now operates across Lebanon, the MENA region and West Africa, offering turnkey construction solutions to private clients, developers, and institutions.

Architect and Civil Engineer with decades of experience in construction, rehabilitation, and complex structural projects. Holding a degree from ESIB, Bassam initially founded BG Matar, a family-owned contracting firm that has since evolved into Immotep. He combines technical mastery with a deep understanding of architectural design that ensures structural integrity and quality,

Architect with 25+ years of experience in design, build, and project management, combining creative vision with strong financial expertise. Holding degrees from ALBA and ESTP Paris, and a Harvard Business School. Georges leads Immotep and co-founded Immobilo Investments, driving innovative, high-value real estate developments in corporate, residential, and hospitality sectors.
